The commemorative stamps of "Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games - Ice Sports" are a set of five ice sports theme stamps issued for the first time in China, and also the set with the most artistic design in the whole Olympic stamp release process. At first, "Ice Sports" only intended to design 4 stamps. In the original design scheme, the contents of short track speed skating and figure skating were placed on the same stamp, which made the display space of China's dominant projects not large enough to fully display its charm. In order to better highlight the characteristics of each project, the designers have studied and reported to the National Post Office for approval for many times before the issuing department decided to add one stamp and expand the number of the whole set to five. The stamps of "Ice Sports" finally presented realized the deep integration of sports culture. Short track speed skating, figure skating, speed skating, curling, and ice hockey, the five ice sports of the Winter Olympic Games leapt onto the paper, or dynamic, or beautiful, or passionate. The designer Zhang Qiang fully reflected the characteristics of ice sports on a small stamp. This set of stamps is different from the previous Winter Olympics stamps. Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts took part in the design of the mascot for the Winter Olympic Games with the strength of the whole school. After 10 months of revision, more than 500 cartoon images, tens of thousands of sketches, and more than 100G renderings, the design team finally stood out from nearly 6000 works collected worldwide.
